Ian D Montford & friends

Friday 23rd May
The Court Theatre, Tring
Tickets £15

Ian D Montford is the creation of Tom Binns - the character comedian behind inept hospital DJ Ivan Brackenbury. Ian D Montfort is a psychic from Sunderland, who made his debut at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe. Binns combines the 'cold reading' trickery of stage mediums with comic patter to debunk their techniques. He made the radio series Ian D Montfort is Unbelievable for Radio 2 in 2013.

One thing’s for sure, Tom Binns makes an extremely convincing psychic. His white-clad creation Ian D. Montfort is half Shirley Ghostman and half Derek Acorah, with a gift for gently undercutting his initial guesses about the audience that leaves everyone in stitches, even his victims.

Tickets for this event are no longer available to buy.

In the UK every hospital has a community radio station. Ivan Brackenbury is an insensitive, brash, sad case, egomaniac DJ broadcasting back to one such station from the gig.

He's won Spirit of the Fringe, was nominated for the prestigious Perrier and made Chortle's Top 50 Gigs of the Decade along with Eddie Izzard, Chris Rock & Bill Cosby. We think he's fantastic, and so do these people.

"For simple laugh-'til you ache humour, Ivan Brackenbury is THE hit of the festival" Evening Standard; "The funniest show at the festival" The Times; "Laughs per minute, The funniest show at the festival" Time Out; "The most enjoyable hour at the festival" The Guardian".

Tom will be mixing his character comedy with bits of stand up.

These two shows make for a fabulous evening of comedy that is not to be missed.

'Ian remains hilarious even as the tricks become remarkable. This is two shows for one: Pin Sharp character comedy and metaphysical magic to boot' (The Guardian).
