As a stand-up comedian Gráinne Maguire is a breath of fresh air. Original and inventive with a subversive twist.
Her deep reserves of excitable energy, along with material about the Bronte sisters, reclaiming big bellies for the sisterhood and fancying Ed Milliband make her a unique new voice in comedy.
As a writer she is witty, incisive and thoughtful. Gráinne wrote a weekly satirical celeb column in national newspaper, The Irish World, and has also had articles published in The Evening Standard. Grainne has recently written for The Now Show, The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4) and 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4) and has a regular blog for The Indpendent.
She is an excellent topical joke writer, combining a political nerd’s knowledge of current affairs with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Cheryl Coles’ love life.
