This very unassuming local comedian is gold dust. In 2007 Ed was hailed by Jimmy Carr on BBC2’s Culture Show as “the funniest thing on the Fringe.” The following year, Edward’s show won the Malcolm Hardee Award and received Edward’s first string of five and four star reviews.
Since then he has performed on several radio shows including BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, 28 Acts In 28 Minutes, Pick Of The Week and Happy Mondays. He is currently filming a BBC Comedy Online series called The Ed Lectures and writing a BBC radio show.
Through all of this, he still has an office job in Tring!
The great Robin Ince only has to pop round the corner for this gig. Berkhamsted based Robin is predominantly known as a science populariser and the pioneering comedian behind hugely successful live events such as The Book Club, School for Gifted Children and 9 Lessons and Carols for Godless People. He presents the Sony Award winning Infinite Monkey Cage on BBC Radio 4 with Brian Cox.
He has won three Chortle Awards, including the Time Out Outstanding Achievement Award and was nominated for Best Live Show at the British Comedy Awards.
His regular radio appearances include; The News Quiz, Just a Minute and as a music profiler on Steve Lamacq’s show for BBC 6 Music. He has made numerous TV appearances on panel and stand up shows including; The Review Show and The TV Book Club as well as presenting documentaries including Schrodinger’s Cat and Vinyl Culture.
His recent science tour, Uncaged Monkeys, with Brian Cox, Simon Singh and Ben Goldacre was a sell-out including two nights at Hammersmith Apollo.
