2010 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer Nominee Gareth Richards’ engaging observational comedy and inspired one-liners have made him in an instant favourite on the comedy circuit.
A former co-host on Sony-Award winning Frank Absolute Radio show, Gareth has completed a run of his award nominated show Stand Up Between Songs at the Soho Theatre.
He has supported Rhod Gilbert on tour and regularly gigs at the most prestigious comedy clubs around the country. He recently performed in Frank Skinner and Friends at the Noel Coward Theatre in London’s West End.
Gareth came to the Tringe in 2010 and 2012, on both occasions he was outstanding.
“A delightful hour of comedy.”
The Guardian
There are a number of acts at this festival who are destined to be tomorrow's comedy stars. Matt Richardson is at the top of this list. He appeared at the Tringe Festival's Roving Comedy Night 3 years ago, just when he was starting on a comedy career. Just six months later he was appearing in the So You Think You're Funny and Chortle Student Comedy Award finals and winning dozens of other competitions. He's now contracted to one of the best comedy agents and appears in clubs up and down the country.
Matt will be previewing his much anticipated début solo show - titled 'Hometown Hero' which will be unleashed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2013. The show won the Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival's 'Best New Show' award on it's first ever outing!
"So hot, that even if you put on factor 50 you'd still end up with sunstroke, in a bath of ice, shaking and needing to be watched through the night" - RUSSELL KANE
