This year's Tringe Aperitif continues with a fabulous line of great comedians - The brilliant Will Adamsdale, Tom Parry and Phil Nichol are joined by comedy double act, Giants - all making their debut appearance in Tring. They are all testing their new shows in the most intimate of settings at the Coach House.

TOM PARRY

Tom Parry is a comedian, writer and actor. He performs solo stand up, appearing on E4’s ‘Show & Tell’, and his debut hour 'Yellow T Shirt' earned him an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination for Best Newcomer and enjoyed a sold-out London run at the Soho Theatre. For more than a decade he has been working alongside Ben Clark and Matthew Crosby as part of the multi-award winning sketch team Pappy's. Together they have performed 6 sell out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, completed 4 national tours, created award-winning podcasts, and gigged all over the world. They also created, wrote and starred in the sitcom 'Badults' for BBC3, and a Christmas short film for Sky Arts.

As a writer he has written an episode of 'Saving Woofy' (CBBC), 'The Job Lot' (Series 3) for ITV2, for 'Class Dismissed' (CBBC), adapted Nikolai Gogol's 'Marriage', which premiered at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe and adpated his 2016 Edinburgh Show 'Fancy Dressed Life" into a Radio 4 comedy. Tom also has a feature film script for 'Andy Christ' currently in production. He is also a prolific director of comedy, with shows including 'Beasts: Solo' and 'Live DVD'; 'Birthday Girls: Party Vibes'; and 'Max and Ivan: The End' and 'The Reunion', which was nominated for a Foster's Award in Edinburgh and a Barry Award in Melbourne.

This work-in-progress, then, will (probably) be about failure (his).
And time.
And how to win over the 4 year old son who once said, ‘let’s leave him in the woods’.
Expect songs of the quiet hell of the gentrifier. Expect stories of staggering technical incompetence. Expect a tussle between the personal and the public that could comfortably sit on the pages of one of Arthur Miller’s early teenage plays!
(this artist also won a fringe first and was nominated for the Barry award at the Melbourne comedy festival. He was in Richard Curtis’ least successful film ‘The Boat that Rocked’ and Chris Morris’ ‘Four Lions’. His radio sitcom ‘Earls of the Court’ was on R4 and he starred in ‘Mark Watson talks a bit about life’.)
